Patron's Message

We hope you are doing well during these uncertain times. On behalf of my co-patrons Mr. Andrew Chang, Ms. Brigette Chang and honorary patron Dr. Wesley J. Hall, we are looking forward to sharing an evening with you at the UWI Toronto Benefit Awards on June 25, 2022 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

All over the world COVID-19 and its variants continue to present ongoing challenges and reasons to be thoughtful in how we come together to socialize, celebrate and support those less fortunate. In the Caribbean, the pandemic has put tremendous strain on the education, financial and healthcare sectors. With loss of jobs due to the downturn in the economy, students have been even more severely affected as most are from single parent households and day to day survival has become the priority and even that is precarious. Registration is down as students struggle to meet tuition, which leads to severe frustration for those who are already marginalized and desperate.

The 2022 event is one of re-emergence and recommitment – the coalescing around our cause, knowing that with your help we will rise beyond our greatest expectations. Our theme this year is: One Caribbean...Global Impact.
